(Thanh Hoa, October 2026) - In the context that climate change is posing global challenges and Vietnam is drastically moving towards the goal of Net Zero emissions by 2050, the recycled paper industry is affirming its key role in the circular economy. Pioneering this journey, Miza Nghi Son Co., Ltd. has been implementing the construction of two major projects according to the globally prestigious Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) of Verra.

Dual solutions for circular economy and emission reduction

According to a representative of Miza Nghi Son Co., Ltd., the Household Waste Paper Recovery and Recycling Project plays a role in recovering important raw materials for the paper industry, reducing pressure on forest resources and reducing the amount of waste that must be landfilled. More importantly, this process significantly prevents the amount of methane (CH4) - a highly toxic greenhouse gas arising from domestic waste landfills.

At the same time, the project to recover and generate biogas power from production wastewater helps Miza Nghi Son to actively convert methane obtained from the wastewater treatment system into green energy directly for the plant's operations. This initiative not only helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions directly into the environment but also optimizes energy efficiency and reduces dependence on the national grid.

The recovery and recycling of waste paper helps reduce the amount of waste in landfills and keeps the source of paper fibers in the circulation.

Transparency of information and accompanying the local community

In order to ensure that the implementation of carbon credit projects strictly complies with Verra's international standards, demonstrating social responsibility and transparency to the community, Miza Nghi Son Co., Ltd. cooperated with a consultant, Aquila Technology Vietnam Co., Ltd . , to organize Local Stakeholder Consultation Meetings.

The event will officially take place on October 28, 2026 at the headquarters of Miza Nghi Son Co., Ltd. (Industrial Park No. 05, Nghi Son Economic Zone, Truong Lam Commune, Nghi Son Town, Thanh Hoa Province) in two forms: directly at the factory and online via the Google Meet platform.

The Organizing Committee cordially invites representatives of local authorities, management agencies, mass organizations, supply partners, workers and all interested people to attend. At the consultation, the parties will be briefed in detail about the scale, objectives, socio-economic and environmental impacts, risk management measures, as well as the project's contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The wastewater treatment and biogas recovery system at Miza Nghi Son helps convert waste into green energy.

This is also an opportunity for businesses to directly listen to comments, questions or concerns from the community in order to best complete the design of both projects.

Any comments or questions from stakeholders can be submitted directly at the meeting, voted in the comment box located at Miza Nghi Son factory, or sent online via the registration form and official information channels of the project.

By proactively implementing carbon credit projects according to international standards, Miza Nghi Son not only affirms its strategic vision in sustainable development but also sets a new standard for low-emission production, contributing to the realization of Vietnam's Net Zero commitment by 2050.
