Creating conditions for Japanese businesses to expand investment in Vietnam
On the afternoon of 7-9, at the Government Headquarters, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc had a meeting and seminar with Japanese economic organizations and businesses that intend to expand investment in Vietnam.

Speaking at the opening of the dialogue, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc highly appreciated the Government of Japan and Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's great contributions to the development of the extensive strategic partnership between the two countries in recent years. In the context of the Covid-19 pandemic causing negative impacts, the Prime Minister welcomed and appreciated the Japanese Government for promptly making a decision to support the diversification of supply chains abroad and expressed his pleasure to know that among the 30 Japanese enterprises received the first batch of support from the Government of this country, there are 15 enterprises wishing to expand investment in Vietnam. The Prime Minister affirmed that the Vietnamese Government always appreciates the role of the Japanese business community, who are serious, responsible, effective business investors, contribute to the budget, etc focusing on environmental protection and taking care of workers' lives.

The Prime Minister stated that the National Assembly of Vietnam has passed the Law on Investment, the Law on Enterprises (amended), the Law on PPP Investment with many new points, transparency, advantages, investment incentives...; emphasizing that the Vietnamese market is large enough for business investment plans, in line with the strategies of restructuring and shifting global and regional supply chains of international investors, especially Japan. The Prime Minister also said that he has established a working group to promote foreign investment cooperation headed by a Deputy Prime Minister to seize investment cooperation opportunities, dialogue and handling petitions of large investors to Vietnam. The Prime Minister has also directed the reopening of commercial flights to a number of routes with a high safety factor, including Japan, with a simplified and convenient entry process, while ensuring safety against the epidemic. and convenient for business.
Emphasizing that Vietnam has a great demand for development investment, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc stated that Vietnam always welcomes Japanese businesses to expand investment cooperation in the fields of infrastructure, energy, manufacturing industry, high-quality agriculture, information technology, smart cities, financial services, banking, etc.; at the same time, he affirmed that the Vietnamese Government, leaders of ministries, sectors and localities will accompany the business community, support and create all favorable conditions for business investment activities, bringing more benefits to all parties, contributing to bringing Vietnam-Japan relations to a new level.

Japanese Ambassador Yamada Takio said that in the past 20 years, Vietnam's economy has grown extremely rapidly and also affirmed its position in the international arena. The Ambassador said that investors in the world, including Japanese businesses, are paying a lot of attention to Vietnam, a place to invest in the new normal conditions after Covid-19. Many Japanese businesses are considering relocating production facilities to Vietnam. The Ambassador expressed his hope that Vietnam will seize this opportunity.
The Japanese Ambassador also endorsed the resumption of travel between the two countries, thereby improving the disbursement of current public projects, attracting more foreign investment into Vietnam. improve Vietnam's credit rating. In addition, the Ambassador affirmed that Japan will continue to support businesses to invest in Vietnam and support Vietnam's economic development further.
At the dialogue, Japanese businesses also raised many issues in investment cooperation in Vietnam such as human resources, development of a number of new fields, supporting industries, research and development, etc.
Acknowledging and responding to issues of concern to Japanese businesses, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc asked ministries, sectors and localities to quickly remove obstacles under their jurisdiction; affirming to create all conditions for Japanese businesses to expand investment in Vietnam.
