According to Nikkei, three U.S. technology companies, HP, Dell, Microsoft and Amazon, are considering moving some of their hardware equipment production lines out of China amid the ongoing trade war between the country and the United States.

Nikkei reported that HP and Dell are both looking to move up to 30% of their laptop production out of China, while Microsoft may move some Xbox production lines and Amazon to move Kindle and Echo speaker production lines.

According to Nikkei, Acer and Asustek are also considering the possibility of moving production outside of China.

The above moves are said to be in response to the US imposing an additional 25% tariff on all remaining imports worth $300 billion from China.

In previous US tariffs, the technology industry was largely unaffected, but now with the new tariffs, laptops, Smartphones and game consoles will be affected, which could lead to higher selling prices for consumers and reduced profits for manufacturers.

Earlier, Nikkei also reported that Apple is considering moving up to 30% of its hardware device production out of China, while according to the Wall Street Journal, Nintendo may move some of its Switch console production. and Bloomberg said that Google has shifted the production of some Nest thermostat products.

For a long time, the hardware production of the world's electronics and technology companies has been focused on China, where production costs are cheap, but everything has been changing with the escalating trade war between the United States and China.
